Meet A Mate

Our Meet-A-Mate program offers members the opportunity to catch up with old colleagues and meet new ones in relaxed social environments.

We extend the welcoming hand of camaraderie, whether you or your family have served or are serving.

What Events Are Offered?

Our events include a range of diverse activities such as:

-  Excursions to the Air Force Museum at Point Cook, B24 Liberator Restoration project, the Vietnam Veterans’ Museum;

-  Presentations and talks on historical military aviation topics;

-  Trivia events;

-  Lunches and other social occasions.

Who Can Come Along?

Air Force Association members and their partners, serving and ex-serving Air Force Personnel are always welcome at our Meet-A-Mate events.

 Meet-A-Mate - Keynote Speaker Wing Commander (Retd) Sharon Bown

The next AFA-Vic Meet-A-Mate function will be an address by Wing Commander (Retd) Sharon Bown, who will speak about her deployment experiences in Timor-East and Afghanistan. Sharon's presentation will be followed by a light lunch. There will also be background music provided by the Air Force Band Wind Quartet during lunch.

There is no charge for attendance.

Meet-A-Mate, 2 March 2018: The Gallipoli ANZAC Landings

At our Meet-A-Mate event on 2nd March, 170 AFA Victoria members and serving members from all three Services were treated to an dramatic and enlightening presentation on the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli by SQNLDR Hugh Dolan (Retd) in the former Officers’ Mess at Point Cook.
